1. Introduction
Maonero (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the WeDrive mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the App.
By using WeDrive, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Precise GPS coordinates (location is rounded for privacy)
- Background location when the App is closed

- Payment card or bank account details
- Government-issued ID numbers
- Biometric data stored on our servers (biometric auth is device-local only)
- Contact lists, call logs, or SMS content
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Provide the Service: Create your account, display your profile, match you with nearby users
- Communications: Facilitate in-app messaging between matched users; send push notifications about matches, messages, and partnerships
- Safety & Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
- Improvement: Analyse usage patterns to improve features, fix bugs, and enhance user experience
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes
4. Device Permissions
We request only the permissions necessary for the App to function:

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's Settings. Revoking a permission may limit certain App features.
5. Location Data
We take your location privacy seriously.
- Precision: Approximate only (~1 km / city-level). We round coordinates before storage.
- Storage: Only rounded coordinates are stored; precise coordinates are never persisted.
- Visibility: Other users see only the approximate distance to you — never your coordinates.
- Background Access: We do not access your location when the App is in the background or closed.
- Tracking: We do not maintain location history or track your movements.
You may disable location services at any time in your device settings. Without location permission, distance-based matching features will be unavailable.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or analytics platforms that build cross-app user profiles.
7. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- With Other Users: Your profile information (name, photo, bio, vehicle/driver details) and approximate distance are visible to potential matches. Your exact location, email, phone number, and password are never shared.
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate the App (hosting, error tracking, push notifications) under strict data processing agreements.
- Legal Obligations: When required by law, court order, subpoena, or valid legal process.
- Safety: To prevent fraud, protect user safety, or enforce our Terms of Service.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you would be notified).
8. Data Storage & International Transfers
Your data is stored on servers operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS). These servers may be located outside your country of residence. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your own.
We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
- Access controls and authentication
- Data processing agreements with all service providers
9. Data Retention

10. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS.
- Encryption at Rest: Sensitive data is encrypted on our servers.
- Password Security: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we never store plaintext passwords.
- Authentication: Secure token-based authentication with token expiration.
- Secure Storage: Sensitive credentials are stored using platform-native secure storage (Keychain on iOS, EncryptedSharedPreferences on Android).
- Access Controls: Strict role-based access to production systems.
- Regular Reviews: Ongoing security audits and dependency updates.
No system is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the App at your own risk.
11. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have some or all of the following rights:
11.1 General Rights (All Users)
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Delete your account and request erasure of your data
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw Consent: Revoke any consent previously given (e.g., location, notifications)
11.2 Additional Rights for EU/EEA Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you also have the right to:
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
- Lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority

11.3 Additional Rights for California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

- Delete your personal information
- Opt-out of the “sale” of personal information — we do not sell your data
- Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights
Categories of personal information collected (per CCPA categories): Identifiers (name, email, phone), internet/electronic activity (usage data, device info), geolocation data (approximate), and visual information (photos).
11.4 How to Exercise Your Rights
- In-App: Settings → Delete Account (for deletion)

We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.
12. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time:
- Open the App → Navigate to Settings
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm your decision
Upon deletion:
- Your profile is immediately hidden from other users
- Your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- Your messages in existing conversations are deleted
- Some anonymised/aggregated data may be retained for analytics
- Data required by law may be retained for the legally mandated period

13. Children's Privacy
WeDrive is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@wedrive.maonero.com.
14. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
The WeDrive mobile application does not use cookies, web beacons, or cross-app tracking technologies. We do not participate in interest-based advertising or share data with ad networks.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document
- Notify you via the App (push notification or in-app notice)
Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
